Biography
Aedín is a scenographer who has worked extensively in Ireland and internationally.
Currently Aedín is designing Infinity for Director Julie Kelleher for CAT in Cork, Alonetimes by Jennifer Walshe and Philip Venables which will premiere Foundation Cartier, Paris in April and Don Giovanni for Director Tom Creed at the Blackwater Opera Festival in June 2026.
Other credits include Good Sex for Dead Centre, Poor, Medea and Our New Girl at the Gate Theatre, Drainage Scheme and Saló at the Peacock, The Temple at Melbourne Malthouse Theatre; All that Fall and Playing the Dane for Pan Pan Theatre Company, To the Lighthouse, Everyman, Cork, Guests of the Nation, Sacrifice at Easter, and Faraway on Spike Island for Corcadorca; Der Sturm , Schone Neue Welt and NONONO at Theatre Bonn; Dublin Gothic and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Abbey Theatre; The Playboy of the Western World and Fight the Landlord at the Oriental Pioneer Theatre Beijing and The Seagull and Other Birds at Chengdu Theatre, China
She won an Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Set for Good Sex (2022) and Rehearsal, Playing the Dane (2010) Best Lighting for her work on All That Fall and Man of Valour (2011) and with Paul Keogan for Faraway (2017) .
Recent opera work includes Guilio Cesare Blackwater Valley Opera Festival 2023 and Mars by Jennifer Walshe for Irish National Opera July 2025
